CHOISY-AU-BAC
Choisy-au-Bac lies between the Oise and Aisne rivers (Bac means ferry).  It is north east of Paris in Picardy and about an hour away from Paris by car.  The journey from Calais takes about 2 hours.
Choisy is similar to Sible Hedingham in many respects, with a population of about the same size with a variety of old traditional houses in narrow streets and some modern areas.
The historic town of Compiègne is very close to Choisy-au-Bac.  It is surrounded by the famous forest, where the Armistice for WW11 was signed in a railway wagon.  The Wagon and a museum are carefully maintained and of great interest.
